On the Road to Colorado!

Lawrence, KS to Colorado Springs, CO

Day 3 started out with an awesome breakfast in the hotel lobby that fueled us for our day of driving ahead. Our drive through Kansas was filled with views of grass, fields, and windmills, and we even saw some cattle and antelope! Throughout the morning we enjoyed the views as we progressed through Kansas!

The bus ride through Kansas was filled with conversations, laughter, and card games!!

 We pulled off the highway for lunch and had many options to choose from such as McDonalds, Subway, Freddy’s, and Arby’s. Later in the afternoon we stopped at a large gas station in Goodland, KS to stretch our legs, grab some snacks, and shop around. Many of the students came back to the bus with fun purchases like hats, sunglasses, and even new ‘pets’ to hook onto their name tag lanyards! As we got closer to Colorado Springs, we saw mountains for the first time!

We walked a little ways down the road to Carrabba’s for dinner and enjoyed a yummy Italian meal! After dinner, there was some free time before bed. We cannot wait to explore more of Colorado Springs!
